What started as an April Fools post by our very own Dave Rochelle, has now turned into a Southern Tier anomaly.

Last night, Urban Corning had the honor of hosting 46 people eager to learn more about the possibility of adding a railroad route from Corning, NY to New York City. We are so thankful for everyone?s input and questions that made for an educational discussion about this exciting attainable action.

A big thank you to the Community Foundation who stepped up and volunteered their space for further meetings and their immense knowledge and experience to help fundraise for this cause.

Leslie Danks Burke was present at the meeting and helped answer questions during the Q&A following the presentation. She has offered to advise us as we navigate the political waters.

Also in attendance were representatives from the Corning Museum of Glass, Corning and the Finger Lakes, Community Solutions, and the Chemung Chamber of Commerce all expressing that they?re ?100% behind this effort,? and the need of this movement for tourism.

We look forward to teaming up with 15 volunteers, the Community Foundation, Leslie Danks Burke and Rob Piecuch to further the process of bringing another way of transportation back to the Twin Tiers.
