Glassmaking as a Language | Live at CMoG

Posted on Jul 20, 2011 in Corning Museum of Glass

[Update: Live Streaming finished. Re-watch video below] Today at 10:30AM, Corning Museum of Glass is live streaming a flameworking class named “Glassmaking as a Laguage” from The Studio. The class is by renowned glass artist Gianni Toso. You can watch the live stream below, or interact with others on CMoG’s UStream channel here.

This class will focus on developing each student’s personal glass language by building a vocabulary of glass techniques…  Gianni Toso is a Venetian maestro from a family with a seven-century tradition of glassworking in Murano. His constant experimentation and an M.F.A. in painting led him to transcend the traditional boundaries of Murano glassblowing and flameworking. He combines a unique artistic vision and mastery of the medium to create extraordinary works of art, which grace museums and private collections worldwide. – From the CMoG Website
